Dining anywhere in the Philippines is an experience travelers can never forget because it is one of the greatest pleasures of the Filipino people. The exotic dishes spread on the Filipino table are a blend of Oriental, Spanish and local culinary dishes. There are also a number of restaurants which specializes in different cuisine suitable to the distinguishing taste buds of any travelers. Western foods and restaurants are a plenty so you are never too far from your favorite home foods.
One can eat lunch for less than a dollar in a shopping Mall and have an surprisingly excellent meal! Adobo (a dish of marinated vegetables and meat or fish; served with rice) and barbeque are favorites as well as a cornucopia of fish dishes. The food is fresh and delicious and you'd be hard pressed to spend more than US$10 for an excellent dinner for two at a typical Filipino restaurant.
 Josephine's Restaurant Tagaytay (photo above,) is the absolute best and my personal favorite. Though a bit pricey compared to other local eateries, the service, food and view is outstanding. I entertained a group of ten persons and we all had a feast with wine and beer setting me back about $60. In the west it would have cost me US$300.
On the weekends Josephine's has an incredibly cheap all you can eat buffet for around US$5, a great bargain if I say so myself. But get there early because they are always packed.
 Manos Greek Taverna is operated by Manos Sapountzakis and his Filipina wife, Estrella. It is without doubt the best Greek Restaurant in the Philippines and perhaps in all of Asia!
After living twenty years in Greece, Estrella whips up the excellent and tasty Greek dishes that both Filipinos and foreigners just love, whilst Manos greets and serves their customers. The atmosphere is outstanding and the prices for the scrumptious cuisine are at knock down prices. This couple really knows how to cook and be great hosts so you'll enjoy your dining experience at Manos Greek Taverna.
Greek cuisine is 2,500 years old and a good Greek chef Estrella is. Don't miss eating at Manos Greek Taverna, because you'll want to come back for more!
Manos Greek Taverna is open 7 days a week from 10am until late at night for lunch, dinner, take away and delivery to hotels, apartelle's and inns located within the greater Tagaytay area. It is conveniently located on Calamba Road, Tagaytay City. Coming from Manila via Aguinaldo Highway, turn left at Olverez Plaza or the Rotunda and the restaurant is on the left hand side, just minutes away.
Alternatively coming from Manila by automobile on the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) take the South Superhighway (SSH.) The SSH offers the least traffic out of Metro Manila. From Manila take the Santa Rosa exit and turn right after paying the toll. Drive straight on until you get to the Tagaytay City market place, the entrance of Tagaytay City, just about 20 minutes from the Santa Rosa exit.
Turn right past the city market and proceed for about 1 1/2 kilometers and Manos will be on the right hand side. You can;t miss the place. Manos Greek Taverna is painted in typical fashion, bright white and blue Greek style.
